NEW TEAM MEMBER

temp-post-image

We are so proud to announce a new team member to our practice. As our practice continues to grow, it is important for us to ensure the support of all of our clients. As you only can imagine, Doula work is very hard with no time constraints. By having the right team, we are able to offer the best care possible within our practice structure. We are honored to introduce Rafeal Newport-Hewitt. With over 10 years of experience as a Doula and midwifery apprentice, Rafeal began her work in 2007 while attending a friend's birth. After witnessing this mother dig deep inside herself, with the support of a midwife and Rafeal, she knew this was my calling. Rafeal immediately set out to become a Certifie...

A Mother's Helper

As our practice grows, we are expanding services offered to our clients. One being, A Mother's Helper. Katelyn directly offers support to moms in their fourth trimester (postpartum period).

From Katelyn - "Technically not a Postpartum Doula because I’m not trained as one, however I do “Mother’s Helper” type of work for clients who need it. I don’t advertise it, but have done it for clients in the past, especially those who have had C-sections. The benefit to you is that my rate is much lower than traditional Postpartum Doulas .
The fee charge $25/hour and am open to doing either over nights or during the day time, or a combination of both. I can take care of baby...

Introducing: Health Coaching For Our Clients

A few months back, we announced Katelyn Davis as part owner of the practice. Some of you
have gotten the opportunity to meet Katelyn (and others will soon!). I think we can all agree
she’s a wonderful Doula. But aside from that, she’s also an amazing women’s Health Coach -
helping women from all phases of life become better versions of themselves.
She graduated from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition a few years back and has since gone on
to coach women who want to better themselves. Some of her clients enlist her help to:
• Learn the difference between conventional wisdom on food, and eating real, whole food
• Find what type of exercise works for them and their bodi...

A Response To The CDC News About Encapsulating Placentas

We’re sure by now you’ve all heard about a recent report put out by the CDC warning mothers against ingesting their placentas after childbirth. In this specific case, a mother in Oregon had been ingesting her encapsulated placenta, which was said to cause her newborn baby to continuously get sick. The report scared a lot of women and their families (rightfully so!) and we’re here to dispel some fears around it.
Disclaimer: we believe wholeheartedly that encapsulating healthy placentas can be a wonderful benefit to postpartum mothers (link to good article discussing the benefits). We also offer this service to our doula clients and other women.
Let’s unpack this specific...

EXCITING NEWS TO SHARE!

Earlier this year I connected with an amazing Doula named Katelyn Davis who I felt embodied every aspect of what a Doula is. She was kind, compassionate, and felt strongly about normalizing birth. Over the course of getting to know her, I felt that she would make a great addition to the T.E.A.M I was building. Over multiple conversations, we both decided that our shared vision of the T.E.A.M, and empowering women throughout the childbirth process and beyond, would bring even more value to our clients if we joined together in partnership.
